Created in 1856, the TEXAS locomotive, along with the GENERAL, was half of the Great Locomotive Chase of the Civil War…but that’s only the beginning…

This railroad workhorse helped rebuild Atlanta following Sherman’s March, is closely tied to the rebirth of that Southern city, and survived 160 years of progress.

See the TEXAS unveiled in Spencer, NC, as her year long restoration is made viewable to the public for the first time. This three day event will be her ONLY appearance outside of Atlanta. It will feature:

*100 Years Of Steam – Appearances and operations with the N&W #611 and the Lehigh Valley #126
*Restoration Presentations
*Once in a Lifetime Photo Ops
*Visiting Railroad Equipment
*Much More!
